The 武蔵/Musashi ISZ 1431G is a large knife inspired by the legendary samurai swordsman 武蔵/Musashi and the world's largest battleship 武蔵/Musashi.
Its characteristic is the overwhelming thickness of the blade, like armored plate.
Its power to cut thickly is comparable to that of an axe, and the penetration power of the thick but sharp point exceeds the realm of a knife, making it difficult to say whether it can be called a knife or not.
Former Hitachi Metals SLD Magic
An improved version of SKD11 (D2), its characteristic is that it is a semi-stainless steel that has significantly increased the toughness of D2. Its toughness value is equivalent to Z-Wear, which is slightly higher than the toughness of Magnacut.
Surface treatment that combines functionality and beauty
The titanium-like gunmetal colored surface is treated through a special process to make it scratch-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Once the surface treatment process is complete, the blade pattern is added and the knife is complete. This surface treatment is not a coating, so it will not peel off.
Handle
The handle is made of UltreX™G10, which has excellent strength. The handle bolt is Ti6AL4V.
The grip design is inspired by the ray skin commonly used for Japanese swords, with numerous small hollows and uneven surfaces, making the grip function well even with wet hands.
The groove lines that match the bolts are shaped like anti-aircraft guns, allowing you to intuitively understand the grip position for each bolt.
Grind
The grind of the Musashi is a strong convex grind from the radius to the point, and a hollow grind on the handle side.
Assuming that this knife will be used by someone with confidence in their physical strength, we added functionality by making it lighter and using a two-stage grind to handle sharpening work like a feather stick.
Sheath
The Musashi custom sheath is a double-layered model made of Kydex and Kaidak, and allows for customization of the user's own style.
Because it is heavy, it is mainly intended to be carried on the back, but each user may have their own best way of using it.
When carrying it on the back, it is possible to pass a belt through the inside of the black Kaidak on the outside.
