Zapp Tooling Alloys, released in 2025
The highest performance stainless steel.

This stainless steel is highly wear-resistant, with nearly the same base composition as CPM S90V, manufactured using Zapp's renowned powder metallurgy process.

Hardness
The practical hardness range of Z-CorEdge is 60-65 HRC.
This is the same hardness range as Z-12Ultra.

Wear Resistance
Z-CorEdge's wear resistance is nearly identical to CPM S90V.
Like Z-12, its excellent toughness and hardness enable it to cut a wide variety of materials for an extremely long time.

Toughness
Zapp's powder metallurgy manufacturing process creates a uniform, ultra-fine structure, resulting in even greater toughness than S90V, approaching that of S35VN. This makes it fully capable of handling tasks such as bushcraft.

Sharpness
Zapp's latest powder metallurgy technology creates an extremely clean microstructure that is incredibly smooth. This, in turn, further refines S90V, resulting in sharpness similar to that of carbon steel.

This makes it one of the best stainless steels in terms of overall performance in terms of wear resistance and toughness.

Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion resistance is excellent. In a spray test at 28°C and 3.8% salt concentration, a thin layer of surface rust appeared in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. While the rust was minimal under these conditions, MagnaCut also appeared in a similar amount of time, demonstrating its high corrosion resistance and suitability for use near the sea.
